Ashley and Theodore Williams are a set of twins and oldest out of 8 children. Both of them were being raises children of a farmer. They both hate being farmers and children of a farmer, they still loved their family very much. They both thought their future rested in farm work and labor. When Ashley and Theodore recently turned 12, a woman from the Diplomatic Service was riding by and saw Ashley and recommend when Ashley 15 that she should go to Diplomatic Service. Ashley and her parents were glad that Ashley didn't have to became a Farmer's wife. Theodore is glad for his sister, but was unhappy as well, while Ashley was learning to be in the Diplomatic Service, Theodore was to work on his father's farm. But unknown to Theodore that a Ranger, by the name of George Thomas, was watching over him. The night before Ashley and Theodore were going to 15, Ashley went to the castle and started to learn to be part of the Diplomatic Service. the next day, George had come over and took Theodore as his apprentice.

For the next five years, Theodore and Ashley adjust to their new life. Theodore had made friends with many of the rangers, the only one his age, Courtney James, was his best friend. Since they both went though the same training and at the same time. Ashley went on many missions and was always guarded by knights, a couple of times was guarded by one of the rangers. She was never guarded by George Thomas or his apprentice. After five years, she became part of the Diplomatic Service. Ashley decided to visit her family and to see how her twin is. When she went back to her old home to see her family and twin, her parents told her that Theodore recently became a fully trained Ranger. Ashley was surprise that Theodore was picked to be a Ranger's Apprentice and later on become a Ranger. Ashely went on giving advice and going on different missions. During which time, Ashley tried to figure out where Theodore was station at. While Theodore spends much of his time following tracks and going to the Ranger's Gathering with Courtney.
